A critical consideration the features in the literary textbooks

『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』 연작의 <문학> 교과서 수록 양상에 대한 비판적 고찰

We has a aim to consider critically the features in the literarytextbooks of Cho Sehee’s the little ball shot by a dwarf. We analyze thetechnique and narrative structure of this work, and point out theproblems and limits on advanced research. The little ball shot by adwarf is serial novel composed of 12 short stories. It was published in1978 and 300th editions in 2017. This work is included in five species ofliterary textbooks. And recently it was settled down as one of thetextbook canon.We analyze features of this work as one of the textbook canon andpoint out the process of making textbook canon. Also, we analyze theaspects of inclusion in literary textbook. We suggest three alternativesthrough this study. First, we should not separate content and formats inliterary education. This work is very important format as well ascontent. Despite, only the importance of content has been emphasized inliterary education until now. Second, it is necessary to use full text, notpartial inclusion. Using partial inclusion text is in danger ofsimplification of this work. Lastly, theory of reflection has some prettysevere limits and problems. Interpretations by theory of reflection islikely to distort of meaning of this work. This is the best and effectiveway to teach The little ball shot by a dwarf.

이 논문은 조세희의 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』 연작을 중심으로 텍스트의 정전화 과정과 문학교육적 가치에 대해 고찰하고, 현행 고등학교 <문학> 교과서 수록 양상을 비판적으로 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 조세희의 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』은 <문학> 교과서에 반복 수록되면서 교과서 정전의 한 편으로 자리잡아 왔다. 그러나 문학교과서에서 이 작품을 다루는 방식은 여전히 주제론이나 반영론의 차원에 한정되어 있다. 이 논문은, 이 작품에 대한 형식론을 문학교육에 반영하여 교과서 정전으로서의 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』이 지닌 문학적 가치를 온전하게 평가하고 문학교육적 가치를 제고하고자 한다. 또한 이 논문은 <문학> 교과서 수록 과정에서 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』의 문학적, 문학사적 성취가 온당히 반영되고 있지 못함을 지적하고자 한다. 특히, 부분 발췌 수록과 학습 목표, 학습 활동의 문제점을 중심으로 교과서 수록 양상을 비판적으로 고찰하고, 이에 대한 대안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 논문은 교재 선정의 차원, 교수법의 차원과 관련하여 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』의 문학 정전으로서의 가치를 다음과 같이 제안한다. 교재 선정 및 다양화 차원은 곧 정전의 다양화, 새로운 정전의 발굴을 의미하며, 이는 궁극적으로 기존 정전의 삭제 혹은 교체로 연결된다. 최근 고등학교 <문학> 교과서에 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』이 수록되기 시작한 것은 교과서 생산과 편집의 체계나 논리가 변모했음을 의미하는 동시에 기존 정전에 대한 반성과 교과서 정전의 다양화를 꾀하려는 노력이 시작되었음을 의미하는 현상이다. 또한 교수법의 차원에서 ‘읽기의 세련화와 다양화’를 모색해야 한다는 주장은, 지금까지 주제론에 치우친 『난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공』에 대한 교수법이 내용과 형식의 균형을 통해 보완되어야 할 필요성이 있음을 시사한다.
