The purpose of this study is to identify the change according to income bracket and the trade-off between expenditure items by analyzing expenditure patterns of the urban households as a reset of the IMF. The results of this study are as follows; The composition percentage and the amount of consumption expenditure of urban households after IMF decrease in all classes. But the change of composition percentage by the decrease of consumption expenditure is different in every class. The percentage of decrease of the upper class is higher than that of the lower class in an essential expenditure of household, which is food. And the percentage of decrease of the lower class is higher than that of the higher class in the discretionary expenditures such as clothes and education.

The purpose of this study is to analyze Adolescents spending habits and examine it. The data was collected from 1125 high school students and their parents nationwide. The resets are as follows. 1. About seventy eight percent of the responded students own relatively high-priced goods such as brand-name jeans (59.1%), a mobile phone (31.9%), perfume with a price of 50,000 won or more (26.5%), CD Player (24.4%) or electronic pocket diary (17.1%). The percentage varies according to region. 2. The Adolescents tendency for conspicuous consumption is reflected by 2.92 points out of a total 5 points, while their mothers'marks 2.18 points. By region, conspicuous consumption behavior is more common in Seoul than in other small and medium-sized cities and towns. Also, the more mother attribute children's behavior internally, the lower the childeren's competence is.

The purposes of this study were to determine what factors influence risk perceptions of females and males for milk produced using food-related biotechnology, to test whether risk perceptions or other factors influence self-protection actions and to estimate milk demand response in light of self-protection actions and other economic and demographic factors. The expected utility model was applied to explain the way consumers would take self-protection actions regarding risk perceptions and to drive milk demand. Telephone interviews were conducted and the data were collected from households(females=1,029, males=437) nationwide in the U.S. And the data were analyzed by Heckman two-step method using the software package LIMDEP. Risk perceptions were found to be influenced not by demographic factors but by outrage factors as well as attitudinal factors in both females and males, although some factors were different. In addition, risk perceptions and labeling availability were found to significantly influence self-protection actions in both groups. Furthermore, as an important concern in this study, self-protection action was found to significantly influence milk demand in only male group, implying a consistent behavior of males. Also milk price and household size were found to significantly influence milk demand in both groups. In fact, the results did demonstrate that labeling availability significantly influenced self-protection actions. That is, in markets where labeled laternatives were present, concerned consumers were more likely to self protect by substituting to these products. A policy implication of this result is that labeling food products produced using biotechnology enhances consumer choice. Hence, consumer could express a more accurate demand response and reduce the perceived food safety risk. Furthermore, education for females might be necessary to have a consistent behavior because self-protection action did not significantly influence female's milk demand, though they have greater risk perceptions than males have.

The purpose of this study was to investigate working mothers'parenting stress. The study was approached from an ecological perspective. Data were collected from 185 mothers who were professionals, office or labor workers, and have their children enrolled at the day care center located at their workplace. All the subjects lived in Seoul. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The working mothers'parenting stress was found to be at a moderate level(Mean=2.30). 2. The hierarchical and stepwise regression analyses revealed that significant variables in explaining the parenting stress of working mothers were the degrees of attachment with the subject's mother($\beta$=-.24), age($\beta$=-.23), the degrees of flexibility in working conditions($\beta$=-.19), educational level($\beta$=.18), the degrees of husbands'participation in child care($\beta$=-.17), and the number of children ($\beta$=.16). These variables explained 17.2% of working mother's parenting stress. 3. It was found that the effect of microsystem variables on working mothers' parenting stress were greater than the combined effects of mesosystem, exosystem and macrosystem variables.

The purpose of this study was to assess the iron nutritional status and dietary iron availability of postmenopausal women residing in Jeonju area. The anthropometric parameters, nutrient intake and biochemical status of iron were measured from 57 postmenopausal women aged 50∼74 years old. Mean values of hemoglobin(Hb), hematocrit(Hct), serum iron(Fe), total iron binding capacity(TIBC) and serum ferritin(Ferritin) concentration were 12.82${\pm}$1.03g/dl, 37.68${\pm}$2.99%, 92.60${\pm}$46.66ug/dl, 353.0${\pm}$54.48ug/dl, 86.86${\pm}$100.7ug/ιrespectively. Prevalence of iron deficiency greatly varied by indices from 14.04% when judged by Ferritin(<20ug/ι) to 40.4% by TIBC(>360${\mu}$g/dl. The anemic subjects assessed with Hct percent(36%) represented 22.8%, whereas 21.1% of the subjects possessed less than 12g/dl of Hb. Ferritin concentration showed a significantly negative correlation with TIBC(r=-0.343, p<0.01) and a positive correlation with MCHC(r=0.361, p<0.01). The mean daily intake of iron was 10.62mg and intake of heme iron was 5.3%(0.56mg) of total iron intake. Total absorbable iron caculated by the method of Monsen was 0.49mg anti bioavailability of dietary iron was 4.61%. Ferritin Concentration was positively associated with total iron intake(r=0.264, p<0.05), dietary nonheme iron(r=0.286, p<0.05) and iron of animal food (r=0.364, p<0.01). But Ferritin concentration was not correlated dietary heme iron(r=-0.137, p>0.05). Major food groups of iron intake were vegetables(20.15%), cereals(19.59%) and fishes(12.34%) in postmenopausal women. Intake of eggs was positively associated with Ferritin(r=0.473, p<0.01).

This article is a continuing report about a development of disposable diapers for the elderly in need. In previous report, the first prototypes of disposable diapers in two different categories have been developed. One was a panty type and the other was a pad type. These prototypes were results of property test and wear test of existing disposable diapers in each categories. Yet, in order to develop useable products, the second property and wear tests using the first prototype diapers were carried out. Considering the resets of the second tests, enhancements to the first prototypes were made to refine the second prototypes. The panty type diaper were altered to be longer to prevent evacuation from leaking and fit better. The pad type diapers were altered to reduce thickness for comfort and wearing appearance when get dressed. Ultimately a lot more disposable diapers will be required in future. Resulting suggestions are as follows. Anthropometric data around hip area of elderly in both sexes have to be collected to give meaningful information to diaper manufacturers, so that they can manufacture for different sizes and different sexes. Also we suggests that diapers for specific disease such as diabetics have to be designed accordingly.

The purpose of this study was to classify consumers barred on satisfaction with electronic commerce and to understand group differences in personal and behavioral characteristics. An on-line survey among hitel users was conducted from August 5th through 14th of 1999 and 678 replies were analyzed. This study identified four groups of consumers based on satisfaction with electronic commerce. They were 'the generally satisfied'. 'the generally dissatisfied', 'the satisfied with e-commerce while dissatisfied with the Internet', and 'the dissatisfied with e-commerce while satisfied with the Internet'. Demographic and behavioral characteristics of the four groups were significantly different. Implications on consumer education, consumer policy, and customer services of e-business were discussed.

The purpose of this study were to investigate the influences of fashion leadership on consumers'evaluation of domestic and imported perfume product, and perfume purchasing behaviors and to find out the demographics and consumer value on fashion leadership. The data were collected from 369 female college students using questionnaire. The results were as follows: First, there were significant differences on consumers'evaluation of domestic and imported perfume product between the groups on fashion leadership. The higher the fashion leadership, the much positive consumers'evaluation of imported perfume product. Second, Fashion leaders'the frequency of perfume usage and the pieces of perfume product were higher than fashion followers. The most important perfume attribute of all groups was scent, and fashion leader took the much significant view of brand name than fashion followers. Third, Fashion leaders'economical level and pleasure oriented value was higher than fashion followers.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of consumer instantly impulse buying in cuber market user. Also this study analyzes causal effect on consumer instantly impulse purchasing by demographic and social, place and promotion, consumer emotion state, and consumer internal and psychological variables. The data had been collected from on-line research method with 1,034, as using cuber market. The major statistical methods used for data analysis are frequency, percentile, mean, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, and path analysis. The result of causal effect analysis were as follows; First, the variables affecting possession oriented materialism were sex and age. Second, the variables affecting self-control were sex, income, account of credit card, and instantly state of mind. Third, variables directly affecting instantly impulse purchasing were serif employed, banner advertisement, experience of cuber shopping, shopping mall pattern, instantly state of mind, purpose of shopping, happiness and success oriented materialism, and self-control. Also sex, income account of credit card, and instantly state of mind emerge to indirectly effect via self-control. Especially, the variables of success oriented materialism and instantly state of mind influenced on the highest of relative variables in consumer instantly impulse purchasing.

This research aims to examine the pro-environmental food consumption behavior of two groups; the housekeepers and the restaurant cooks. The rationale for choosing these groups as target of research lies in the fact that they are expected to be the most active subject for enhancing the desirable culture of food consumption, through their close involvement in the whole process of food consumption in society. This study assumes the four areas of activity to be the meaningful categories in the investigation of the pro-environmental food consumption behaviour; planning of menu and purchasing the food materials, cooking, eating, and disposal of the leftover. By using these four categories, we attempt to provide with the empirical typology of pro-environmental food consumption behaviour and the analysis of the relations of it with socio-demographical variables. Their pro-environmental behaviors are divided into four types: $\circled1$ The positive awareness of pro-environmental cooking and eating, $\circled2$ The positive awareness of pro-environmental food consumption behavior, $\circled3$ The passive awareness of pro-environmental cooking and eating, $\circled4$ The passive awareness of pro-environmental food consumption behavior. There is no significant difference among the numbers of the cases that belong to each behavioral type. Seen in overall, however, we can say that the larger number of the cases belong to the passive type of behavior. Two socio-demographical variables of tole housekeepers and the restaurant cooks show significant corelations with the behavioral types of pro-environmental food consumption with the confidence level P<0.05, but there is no significant co-relations in other variables like gender, marital status, age, income, Engel coefficient, education. We also found that there is no great gap between the housekeepers and the restaurant cooks in their positive awareness of pro-environmental food consumption, the percentage of each group belonging to the type being 51.9% and 48.1%, respectively, but that the former shows much greater number than the latter in belonging to the passive awareness type of the pro-environmental food consumption, 75.3% and 24.7%, respectively. Although the restaurant cooks can be said to be more ego-friendly than the housekeepers, if we consider the rapidly growing trend of outgoing-diner, more efforts should be exerted to develop the education and advertisement program for enhancing the restaurant cook's pro-environmental awareness and propagating the desirable food consumption cloture.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relative importance of parental expectations to adolescents'psychological, behavioral, school-based adjustment, and academic achievement. Subjects of this study consisted of 359 adolescents(177 boys and 182 girls) in Cheong-ju City. There was a statistically meaningful difference in the effect of parental expectations of academic performance on adolescents'adjustment according to sex of adolescents'. Maternal pressure, support form mothers, and paternal pressure were significant factors predicting adolescents'relative psychological adjustment and academic achievement. Support and pressure from mothers were associated with adolescents'behavioral adjustment. The research suggest that maternal pressure was the strongest risk factors in relation to the effects of parental expectations of academic performance on adolescents'adjustment.

This study examined the relations of acculturation and parenting behaviors of 279 Korean-Chinese mothers living in Yanbian Area in China to Adjustment of their eighth- and ninth-grade children. The mothers completed a questionnaire consisted of items regarding daily eating habits(food life) and language use, the acculturation scale, and the parenting scale, and their children completed the depression, self-esteem, and social competence scale. While most of mothers preferred Korean food to Chinese food, they preferred Chinese to Korean in daily language use. The mothers'ethnic identity was negatively related to depression of their children, whereas their out-group orientation was positively related to social competence of their children. In general, the relation between mothers'acculturation and adjustment of their children was not mediated by their parenting behaviors. But maternal warmth and acceptance partly mediated the relation between their out-group orientation and social competence of their children. These results imply that their acculturation tends to have direct effects on adjustment of their children.

This study was performed to investigate the awareness of an ecological city and its related variables and the willingness to move to an ecological city and its related variables. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey given to 491 residents in Mokpo, Kwangju and Muan in Chollanam Province. Awareness of the ecotogical city was medium level, half of the respondents were not aware of the ecological city. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to estimate the effects of the variables on the awareness of the ecological city. The most significant variable was environmental knowledge. Next, experience in environmental education and homeownership effected on the awareness of the ecological city. Those who knew about environmental pollution and environmental disruption had a self-reported higher degree of awareness of the ecological city. Those who had experience in environmental education as well as those who lived in their own house were more aware of the ecological city. Other variables were not statistically significant. Half of the respondents were willing to move to the ecological city. Seven variables were related with willingness to move to the ecological city. Those who knew about the environmental pollution and environmental disruption preferred to move to the ecological city. Those who lived in multi-housing had more of a willingness to move to the ecological city. People with a higher education as well as the younger group preferred to move to the ecological city. Those who were more aware of the ecological city and had more ecological-oriented values had more willingness to move to the ecological city. Salaried men and professionals were more willing to move to the ecological city than non-employed people. Among those variables environmental knowledge was the only influential variables on willingness to move to the city.

Study results showed most households spent money on private educational expenditures. Various sociodemographic and parents'cognitive variables were significantly associated with private educational expenditures; family income had the greatest influence. Seven clusters were identified on the basis of each percentage of expenditures allocated to four private educational methods out of total private educational expenditures. The resets of this study may be useful in understanding the private educational expenditures in Korea and have implications in the government policy decision-making on private education.

This study was the explorable research on the actual condition comparatively analyzing values targeting the 1125 pairs of high school students and their parents. This study revelled the following results. First, significant differences were found in high school students'values according to their gender, class type, and residential area. Thus, values are shown differently by personal backgrounds or characters among peer group. Second, high school students and their parents revealed significant differences in values of life, home, society and nation.

The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of considering both counterparts, demanders and suppliers, of consumer education when a consumer education program is developed. In order to do that, opinions of both professionals and consumers on consumer education program in the information society are compared and analyzed. Also, the differences of consumer education program in the information society are discussed based upon the opinions of these two groups. This study finds out that there are many conflicts between professionals and consumers. Therefore, two questions shoed be considered when a consumer education program is developed and is applied in a practical setting: 'Is this appropriate for consumer education'and 'what is the demand of consumers who will actuary get that education'.

포도는 전세계에서 널리 소비되는 과실로 포도 과피에 존재하는 천연색소인 flavonoid는 혈중 콜레스테롤 함량 저하, 항알러지성, 항암성, 항바이러스성, 항염성의 생리적 기능이 있다고 알려져 있다. 최근에 들어와 이들 과실주스 가공에 열처리를 최소화하는 살균방법으로 자연 그대로의 영양성분, 맛과 향기 개선을 위한 초고압 처리에 관한 연구가 폭넓게 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 주스에서 문제가 되고 있는 ethanolic spoilage 균주인 S. cerevisiae의 초고압 살균 효과와 세포 구조적 형태를 연구하였다. 1.2$\times$$10^{6}$ cfu/ml의 S. cerevisiae를 포도주스에 접종하고 24시간 배양하여 멸균한 high barrier주머니에 20m1씩 넣고 2$0^{\circ}C$ 에서 200-600 MPa 조건으로 0-20분 동안 초고압 장치로 실시하였다. 생균수는 YM agar로 poured 방법으로 실시하였으며 200 MPa에서 5, 10, 15, 20분 후의 생균수는 각각 2.2$\times$$10^{7}$ , 4.5$\times$$10^4$, 2.8$\times$$10^4$, 9.8$\times$$10^3$, 9.5$\times$$10^3$cfu/ml로 tailing 현상을 관찰하였고, 400 MPa에서 5분 후 급격하게 감소하였다. S. cerevisiae의 사멸속도는 초고압 처리가 높을수록 증가했으며 세포 손상도는 압력과 처리시간이 길수록 증가하였다. 이들 조건에 따른 효모 세포의 구조적 관찰을 scanning electron microscopy와 electron microscopy로 하였다. S. cerevisiae 세포는 압력에 의한 pinhole, surface roughening을 발견하였고, 세포 내부의 세포질, 액포, 핵 손상과 세포질 물질들이 압력에 의하여 세포벽으로 이동하여 내부가 비어있는 현상을 관찰하였다.

본 연구는 유방절제수술을 받은 여성들이 착용하는 브래지어와 보정물의 중량을 결정하는데 필요한 예비자료를 수집하기 위하여 중년여성 12명을 대상으로 31항목에 대한 인체계측 및 석고법에 의한 유방용적측정을 실시하고 얻어진 유방관련 항목자료와 각 치수별 무게자료를 비교.분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1.유방용적 측정결과 모든 피험자에 있어 오른쪽과 왼쪽 유방용적에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 브래지어 컵 치수는 가슴둘레와 밑가슴둘레간의 차이로 결정되는 것이므로 유방용적과 브래지어 치수의 크기가 일치하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 3.절반 이상의 피험자가 자신의 브래지어 치수를 잘못 선택하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

예술작품은 의상디자인에 영감 혹은 영향을 줌으로써 상업적 의상으로 재생산된다. 오늘날까지도 60년대의 많은 팝 아티스트 작품들이 그대로 T셔츠 등에 프린트되는 것을 쉽게 볼 수 있다. 이러한 직접적 영향에는 자주 맹목적 표절이라는 논란을 불러 일으켰으나 긍정적이든 부정적이든 예술작품과 의상 디자인은 20세기초부터 밀접한 관계를 가져왔다. Sonia Delaunay는 예술을 대중과 결합시키는 가장 좋은 방법은 의상을 통해서라고 생각하였다. 그녀는 "만일 예술작품을 생활 속에 들어가게 하려면 그건 여성들 자신이 입고 다니는 방법뿐이다". 라고 말하였다. 결국 이러한 예술의 대중화에 대한 이론은 60년대에 와서 팝 아트 패션의 출현으로 그 결실을 보게 된다. 상류층을 대상으로 한 의상이 대중화되는 과정에서 60년대 경제호황으로 인한 젊은이들의 소비자층 형성과 미술양식에서의 팝아트의 출현은 자연스러운 시대적 조류로 나타났다. 이러한 상황은 팝 아트가 이 시대의 미술 양식에 혁신적일 뿐 아니라, 사회 전반에 팝 아트의 특성(소비 문화적, 대중 문화적, 재현적, 통속적, 기계적, 획일적)을 유행시키고, 대중에게 순수 예술과 복식에 참여 할 수 있는 기회를 부여했다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가장 혁명적이고도 대중적이라고 할 수 있는 팝 아트 이미지의 작품 제작과 분석을 통하여 현재 논의되고 있는 전시회나 패션쇼에서만 볼 수 있다는 다소 아방가르드 적인 의상 작품들의 대중화 방안에 대한 해결책을 모색하고자 하였다. 실제 의상 디자인 창작에 초점을 맞추었으며, 제작을 위해서 팝 아트에서 주요 소재로 삼았고 대중적 이미지의 심볼이라고도 할 수 있는 Coca Cola label을 표현 모티브로 삼아 개성적이고도 독창적인 의상 디자인을 한 후 분석하였다. 또한 독특한 의상 표현의 개발을 위하여 표현 기법으로는 현대 미술에서 새로운 재료와 여러 가지 재료를 화면에 도입시키는 표현 방법으로서 사용된 콜라주 기법을 사용하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 의상 창작에 있어 조형예술과 연결하여 대중적인 이미지를 도입함으로써 착용자가 예술에 대한 친근하고 익숙한 느낌을 갖게 하며, 예술과 상품 그 자체에 대한 상업적 홍보 목적으로도 사용할 수 있으며, 대중적인 이미지를 표현함에 있어 콜라주 기법은 염색 기법을 사용하지 않고서도 작가가 원하는 표현 효과를 낼 수 있다는 측면을 발견할 수 있었다. 즉 사용된 대중적 상표 이미지는 주인에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 현대 도시의 인공적 환경들로, 의상을 독특하고 개성 있게 표현할 수 있는 모티브의 역할을 하면서 또한 그 예가 무한하여 다양한 디자인 창출의 가능성을 갖고 있으며, 의상을 통해 예술과 대중을 융합시켰다는 예술의 대중화, 민주화라는 중요한 역할을 하였다. 전시회나 패션쇼에서 만 볼 수 있는 예술적 성격을 띠는 아방가르드 작품의 대중 확산 방법으로 제시될 수 있는 이상적인 방법으로는 예술성이 짙은 도저히 입을 수 없다고 생각되어지는 아방가르드한 의상을 일반 대중 브랜드들이 단순한 모방이 아닌 새로운 패러디 작업으로 일반화시켜 상업성을 띤 의상으로 재조정되어 여성들의 몸에 걸치게 하는 것이다. 이와 같은 순환으로써, 조형예술 작품은 의상 디자인 참작에 영향, 영감을 주면서 여러 번의 형태 변화를 거치는 패러디를 통해 각 계층의 누구나가 좋아하고 접할 수 있는 또 다른 창조를 맞아 대중의 손까지 갈 수 있는 것이다.
