  • This paper presents an improved three-phase PFC power rectifier with a three-phase diode rectifier cascaded four-switch boost converter. Its operating principle contains the operating principle of two conventional three-phase PFC power rectifiers: one switch boost converter type and a two switch boost converter type. The operating characteristics of the four switch boost converter type three-phase PFC power rectifier are evaluated from a practical point of view, being compared with one switch boost converter type and two switch boost converter topologies.

The proposed converter applies an auxiliary circuit, which is added to the conventional boost converter and used to achieve soft switching for both a main switch and an auxiliary switch. The auxiliary circuit consist of a resonant inductor and two capacitors, an auxiliary switch. The main switch is operated ZVS turn-on, turn-off also auxiliary switch is operated ZCS turn-on, ZVS turn-off. The proposed soft switching boost converter has lower switch loss and higher efficiency than conventional soft switching boost converter.

  • This paper proposed a new zero-voltage switching(ZVS) Two-Inductor boost converter. The conventional Two-Inductor boost converter has defect. When the switch is turned off, the high voltage spike is occurred in the switch by leakage inductance and switch parasitic capacitor. To solve this problem, the parallel resonant capacitor is added to the conventional Two-Inductor boost converter. Using quasi-resonant between parallel resonant capacitance and leakage inductance, the switches is operated soft switching. A reduction of transformer turn ratio is achieved by the voltage doubler rectifier.

  • In this paper, a dc link voltage variable inverter system is proposed, which consists of a two-switch buck-boost converter and a four-switch inverter. In addition, as the current and torque ripples are generated by a voltage difference between back EMF and dc link voltage, these ripples could be reduced according to the controlled dc-link voltage according to the motor speed. The validity of the proposed inverter is verified by informative simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper presents the improved AC/DC PFC(Power-Factor-Correction) ZVT(Zero-Voltage-Transition) Boost Converter. The conventional AC/DC PFC ZVT Boost Converter minimizes the switching loss of the main switch within all of the load range. That is because AC/DC PFC ZVT Boost converter makes the main switch and the auxiliary switch turn on simultaneously so that it makes ZVS (Zero-Voltage-Switching) possible at the light load. However, it has two problems that ale large loss of the auxiliary switch and the increasing of the reverse current of the main switch. Therefore this research presents high efficiency to reduce the current stress of the auxiliary switch and the reverse current of main switch by adding a diode to the conventional ZVT converter. The prototype of 640[W], 100[kHz] system using MOSFET is implemented for this experimental verification.

  • A novel soft-switching pulse-width modulated boost-type DC-DC converter topology is presented in this paper. The conventional boost switch is replaced by a switching cell that is comprised of two switch-diode pairs being linked by an inductor for zero-current switching turn-on. The diodes commutate the current that is flowing through the soft-switching inductor when the two switch turn-off. The capacitor is placed in parallel with the two switches during turn-off, thus providing zero-voltage switching turn-off. Simulation results are presented to support the theoretical considerations.

  • A novel two stage soft-switching ac-to-dc convener with power factor correction is proposed. The proposed convener provides zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) condition to main switch of boost pre-regulator without auxiliary switch. Comparing to the conventional two stage approach(ZVS-PWM boost rectifier followed by off-line ZVS dc-dc step down converter), the proposed approach is simple and reducing EMI noise problem. A new simple DC-linked energy feedback circuit provides zero-voltage-switching condition to boost pre-regulator without imposing additional voltage and current stresses and loss of PWM capability. Operational principle, analysis, control of the proposed converter together with the simulation results of 1KW prototype are presented.

  • This paper proposes both an active-switched quasi-Z-source inverter (AS-qZSI) and an extended active-switched qZSI (EAS-qZSI), which are based on the classic qZSI. The proposed AS-qZSI adds only one active switch and one diode to the classic qZSI for increasing the voltage boost capability. Compared with other topologies based on the switched-inductor/capacitor qZSI, the proposed AS-qZSI requires fewer passive components in the impedance network under the same boost capability. Additionally, the proposed EAS-qZSI is designed by adding one inductor and three diodes to the AS-qZSI, which offers enhanced boost capability and lower voltage stress across the switches. The performances of the two proposed topologies are verified by simulation and experimental results obtained from a prototype with a 32-bit DSP built in a laboratory.

  • In this paper, a novel active boost converter for SR drive is proposed. An active capacitor circuit is added in the front-end. Based on this active capacitor network, when boost switch turns off, this network seems as passive capacitor network. And the voltage of boost capacitor can keep balance with dc-link voltage automatically. In the capacitor network, discharging voltage is general dc-link voltage in parallel-connected capacitors; charging voltage is double dc-link voltage in series-connected capacitors. When boost switch turns on, two capacitors are connected in series, and discharging voltage is up to double dc-link voltage. So the fast excitation current can be obtained from this mode. Profit from fast excitation and fast demagnetization mode, the performance and output power can be improved. Some computer simulations are done to verify the performance of proposed converter.

  • In this paper, the authors study the boost converter as a DC-DC converter like a Power supply and describe the investigation result about the two phase with interleaved boost converter which has the same effect that the switching frequency of the solid-state-switch is two times. As a result, the ripple of the input current and output current is better improved.
