Developments in science and technology based on computer technology influenced military fields and created up-to-date weapons and equipment, and as a result, which is changing the war accomplishing methods of the future warfare. Due to these changes in the war accomplishing methods, the army command centers are requested to make changes in their decision-making process. In other words, they need to apply more scientific methods rather than just build a scheme by the mere analysis of commanders and the staffs as in the past. Consequently, we propose a model, Vision 21 we developed as a war game model for division-size unit analysis use, in the COA development process, which is the most important part in establishing the OPLAN for mission accomplishment. Vision 21, with a comparative analysis of the other COA built in the COA development process, can be applied to making the best COA. Model employment concept can let us choose the best COA, operating war games on condition that the COA of the opposite forces is fixed and ours sequentially opposed against, and with a comparative analysis also. Moreover, if the time available is limited, before establishing several courses, we can apply the COA to the process for making the best decision, analysing in stages or by main phases and not establishing several courses for a special purpose.

많은 기업들은 오늘날 치열한 경쟁 시장에서 효율적인 공급 사슬 관리를 통하여 경쟁적 우위를 확보하려 한다. 이러한 효율적인 공급 사슬 관리를 위해서는 공급 사슬상의 구성원들이 자신이 보유하고 있는 정보를 다른 구성원들과 공유하고 각자의 의사결정에 있어 이러한 공유된 정보를 효과적으로 반영하여야 할 것이다. 효과적이고 정확한 정보의 공유를 위해서는 공급 사슬 상에 속해 있는 구성원들의 적극적인 참여가 무엇보다 필요하다. 이러한 적극적 참여는 공유된 정보가 종국에는 자신에게 이익이 될 것이라는 믿음에 기반 하여야 할 것이다. 정보 공유를 하는 경우가 그렇지 않는 경우에 비하여 그 효과가 클 것이라는 것은 당연할 수 있다 그러나 정보 공유를 위해서 요구되는 투자비용과 서로 이질적인 구성원들 간에 협업을 통해 공통의 의사결정을 내리는데 야기될 수 있는 갈등 등을 고려할 경우 그 효과의 정도가 충분히 크지 않는 경우에는 서로의 정보를 공유하는 것이 이익이 될 것이라고 말하기 어려울 것이다. 정보 공유의 이익은 공급 사슬 환경에 따라 상이할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 어떤 환경에서 이러한 정보 공유에 따른 성과가 극대화 될 것인지, 혹은 반대로 미비한 결과를 나타낼 것인가에 대하여 시뮬레이션 실험을 통하여 분석하였다. 기존의 연구를 바탕으로 공급 사슬 환경 구성을 위한 3가지 환경 요인을 정의하고 각각의 환경요인에 변화에 따라 정보 공유를 통한 경우와 그렇지 않은 경우에 있어 어떤 성과를 내는지 알아보았다.

Since container throughput is continually increasing, the main issues facing decision-makers at port container terminals are how to expand the existing container terminals and construct new container terminals. Simulations that support user needs require modeling tools that are both easy to use and sufficiently to reflect real world system. The object-oriented approach provides for both reusability and modularity that best fits these requirements. This paper present the design procedure a simulator for port container terminal that was based on the object-oriented approach. The simulator in order to model and simulate the TC-based container terminals is developed.

A distributed server cluster system is a cost-effective system to provide a service application for clients with reliable, scalable, available, and fault-tolerant features. In order to provide high quality services, it is necessary to evaluate service performances, tune the server system, and analyze performances. In this paper, we propose a simulator to generate workloads based on statistic configuration according to estimated application traffics, apply workload scheduling algorithms, and evaluate the simulation results. We introduce the simulator design modelling and architecture. By using flexible parameters, the simulator is able to generate various patterns of workloads with different statistics, and configure system environments such as the number of server nodes, system resources considered, and their capacities. With this simulator, we introduce two scenarios: one is to find appropriate thresholds for the best performance of cluster system, and the other is to find the suitable scheduling algorithm for workload characteristics of service applications.

This paper presents a method for designing layout on the yard and evaluating alternative designs of the layout by applying simulation. The method is based on the concepts of the conventional port container terminal with a perpendicular yard layout. In general, yard design of the container terminal is consists of the two major parts. One is to divide yard area between the number of sections and the number of runs and the other is to decide the number of equipment that is the yard truck and yard crane. In the past days, this design was depended on the experience of the terminal operator and the structure of the conventional terminal layout because it is a very complex decision problem. In this paper we suggest the method of yard design as a conceptual procedure and estimate the efficiency of the container crane and the optimal the number of equipment using the simulation. Numerical examples are provided in order to illustrate the conceptual procedure. As the example, the suggested method and simulation are applied to the virtual container terminal with a perpendicular yard layout. In the results, the number of sections and runs on yard area, the number of yard truck per container crane and the number of yard crane per run are decided. In additional, the traffic among blocks on yard layout is estimated in terms of rate.

시뮬레이션의 궁극적인 목표인 분산 시뮬레이션은 Virtual Simulation과 Constructive Simulation 이외에 Live Simulation이 동시에 참여하여 동일한 환경 내에서 상호작용 하는 것을 추구하고 있다. 따라서 서로 다른 목적과 기술로 제작된 시뮬레이션은 통합된 환경 내에서 사실적으로 상호작용 해야만 할 것이다. 통합 환경(Synthetic Environment)은 시각적 영상을 표현하기 위한 Visual Database 이상의 의미를 내포하고 있다. 상호운용성(Interoperability)은 타 Model 및 Simulation에서 부터 제공되는 기능을 사용하거나 기능을 제공할 수 있는 유용성(Availability)을 뜻하기 때문에 표준화된 통합 환경의 사용 및 교환을 요구한다. 1980년대 중반, 미 국방성은 Image Generator 제작 회사마다 독자적인 데이터베이스 포맷을 사용함으로 인해 시뮬레이터 데이터베이스의 중복성이 야기되고 있다는 것을 지적하고 통합 환경 데이터 교환 문제를 해결하기 위한 최초의 관련 연구를 수행하였다. Virtual Simulation에서 막대한 비용이 소모되는 시뮬레이터 데이터베이스의 제작 및 유지 보수에 들어가는 이중적인 비용 절감에 대한 관심은 최근 SEDRIS에 이르러 표준 교환에 대한 명세의 필요성이 보다 구체화되어 지구상에 존재하는 각종 주변 환경을 기술하기 위한 통합 환경표현 및 교환의 표준화가 진행되고 있다. 국내에서는 문화콘텐츠진흥원, 한국게임산업개발원, 한국전자통신연구원, 국방과학연구소, 서울대, 아주대, 세종대 등을 중심으로 연구가 진행 중이며, 그중 세종대학교는 SEDRIS 데이터로 사용될 원본 데이터의 충실도와 신뢰도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방법을 연구하고 있다. SEDRIS는 그 응용가능성이 무궁무진하여 향후 인공적인 가상환경을 대표하는 용어로 사용될 것이며, 공개된 표준을 통한 소스 데이터의 공유로 상호운용성을 위한 초석을 제공하여 궁극적으로는 비용 절감 효과가 있을 것으로 전망된다.

In operating distributed systems, proactive management is one of the major concerns for better quality of service and future capacity planning. In order to handle this management problem effectively, it is necessary to analyze performances of the distributed system and events generated by components in the system. This paper provides a rule-based event parsing engine for proactive management. Our event parsing engine uses object hooking-based and event-token approaches. The object hooking-based approach prepares new conditions and actions in Java classes and allows dynamically exchange them as hook objects in run time. The event-token approach allows the event parsing engine consider a proper sequence and relationship among events as an event token to trigger an action. We analyze the performance of our event parsing engine with two different implementations of rule structure; one is table-based and the other is tree-based.

In order to reduce the cost of software maintenance including software modification, we suggest the object oriented program with checking the version of application program using the Java language and the technique of executing the downloaded application program via network using the application manager. In order to change the traditional scheduler to the application manager we have adopted the Xlet concept in the nuclear fields using the network. In usual Xlet means a Java application that runs on the digital television receiver. The Java TV Application Program Interface(API) defines an application model called the Xlet application lifecycle. Java applications that use this lifecycle model are called Xlets. The Xlet application lifecycle is compatible with the existing application environment and virtual machine technology. The Xlet application lifecycle model defines the dialog(protocol) between an Xlet and its environment

Stream servers are for supplying multimedia stream data to users through the internet such as movies and musics without discontinuation. A typical stream server is designed roughly by considering the characteristics of stream services and by employing processors, memory, PCI bus, Ethernet, TOE and disks. This study focuses on deciding the priority for using resources such as PCI bus, buffer memory and TOE buffer, which have limited capacities in a typical stream server. The simulation study shows that the top priority for using PCI bus for normal streaming services should be given to the operation that sends data from buffer memory to TOE buffer Giving priority for using PCI bus to other operation such as sending data from disks to memory results in deadlock Phenomenon.

With recent advances in technology and the changing nature of business, call center management has become a rapidly growing industry. However theoretical analysis about the call center system is very difficult, and the forecasting of call volume also. In the situation, it is significant that we study call-flow system, design system model and perform simulation. If these are possible, it is able to control the staff schedule and the resource management efficiently. This study introduces the process of applying the call center to simulation. So, it is feasible to break from the intuitive management by a minority manager and analyze it scientifically. The enterprise can reduce unnecessary expense, make an offer high quality to user in a keen competition

This paper reviews existing message-filtering schemes and presents a quantization-based message-filtering approach which reduces state update transmission and message traffic requirement. For a realization of the approach we develop a DEVS-based integrator which provides behavior and characteristic of the quantization-based approach. We take a spaceship and space traveling system as a case study to evaluate performance of the quantization-based approach. The approach is validated by DEVSJAVA simulations of the case study. The comparison of message traffic requirement between DTSS (Discrete Time System Specification)-based and DEVS-based systems apparently shows system performance improvement through the quantization-based approach.

Event notification service is a event-based messaging middle ware service needed for various vertical domains, such as, business applications, distributed system management, and web service integration. In this paper, we investigate the architecture of an event notification service that includes a subject-based event dissemination service and a flexible message communication service. The event dissemination service is in charge of transferring events asynchronously but speedy according to the subjects of events and their environmental knowledge. It also includes content-based message filtering. The message communication service provides a common communication infrastructure supporting variety types of messages and variety of protocols. Depending on application domains and situation, we can re-configurate the communication infrastructure in order to optimize the efficiency and usability. This paper shows the performance analysis of our event notification service with various types of message formats and protocols.

2003년 1월 25일의 인터넷 침해사고는 정보통신망의 중요성을 실감하게 해준 사건이다. 이 사건의 원인을 여러 가지로 말할 수 있지만, 가장 근본적인 원인은 소프트웨어의 취약점에 대한 관리가 부재한 것이었다. 소프트웨어가 특정 취약점을 갖게되는 데에는 다양한 원인이 존재하며 이에 대한 연구는 폭넓게 진행되어 왔다. 본 논문은 이러한 연구들을 기반으로 취약성을 모델링하는 방법에 대해서 다루고자 한다. 특히, 단위 취약점 개념을 사용한 취약성의 시스템적인 분석 방법을 설명하고, 이러한 개념이 생존성 평가에 어떻게 활용될 수 있는지를 다루고자 한다. 본 논문의 연구 결과는 기존의 취약성 분석 기법을 좀더 정형화 해주는 역할을 할뿐만 아니라, 정보보호 영역에 시뮬레이션 기술을 어떻게 활용할 수 있는지에 대한 하나의 방법으로 활용될 수 있다.

Studies of Internet algorithms or policies require experiments on the real large-scalenetworks. But practical problems with large real networks make them difficult Instead many researchers use simulations on the Internet topology models. Some tried to find out abstract topological properties of Internet. And several models are proposed to reflect Internet's topological characteristics better. But few studies have been performed on how to model the evolution of Internet. We propose algorithms for modeling addition and removal of nodes and accompanied change of topologies. We analyze the topologies generated by our algorithms to observe that they obey power-laws better than those generated by existing ones. These algorithms are also expected to be helpful in predicting future topologies of Internet.

This paper proposes a new concept of operating system security enhancement system which uses loadabel security kernel module (LSKM) or dynamic link library(DLL) and specific conditions for operational environment should be assumed.

현재의 네트워크는 다양한 서버, 라우터, 스위치 등 여러 장치들로 구성된 복잡한 구조를 가지고 있다. 정책 기반의 프레임워크는 복잡한 네트워크를 단순화하고 자동화하여 관리할 수 있는 도구를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 여러 보안 시스템 모델들이 사용할 수 있는 취약성 정보들을 집약시킴으로써 보안 시스템간의 정보 공유를 쉽게 할 수 있는 SVDB (Simulation based Vulnerability Data Base)를 구축하였다. 또한 SVDB를 활용하여 보안 규칙을 유도하고 유도된 보안 규칙을 정책 기반 프레임워크에 적용할 수 있는 환경을 구성하였다. 정책 기반의 프레임워크에서 취약점 데이터베이스를 이용한 정책 유도와 적용을 검증하기 위해 서비스 거부 공격 (Denial of Service)과 Probing 공격을 사용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 정책 기반의 프레임워크에서 보안 시뮬레이션을 수행함으로써 적용될 보안 정책이 기대되는 대로 동작하는지 검증할 수 있는 환경을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

The latest version of the HLA(High Level Architecture) standard developed by the US Department of Defense was established as an open and internal IEEE 1516 HLA standard in 2000. Commercial applications based on the IEEE 1516 have already developed in the non-defense industry. We participated in several development projects for NTS (Nuclear Training Simulator). Extensive modifications are necessary to make a new and/or upgraded NTS because the previously developed simulation softwares have not two desirable property: reusability and interoperability. We reviewed the IEEE 1516 specifications to develop NTS having the capability of reusability and interoperability. Our review activities were forced on application development process, supporting tools, and software structure of NTS. The primary goal of this review is to identify what are constraints or problems to be resolved when we apply IEEE 1516 to NTS development. In this paper we suggest several recommendations for NTS developers.

Mobile Node has to maintain communication as they move form place to place, so it doesn't guarantee Quality of Service(QoS). Fast Handoff is important to provide multimedia and real-time applications services in mobile, and it is closely related to handoff delay. Therefore, handoff delay problem is actively studied to quarantee QoS as a main issue in mobile IP research area. Next generation Mobile IPv6 resolve this problem somewhat, triangle problem for first packet and handoff delay still remain. In this paper, we suggest SNMP Information-based routing that adds keyword management method to Information-based routing in active network in order to resolve such a problem, and then suggest QoS controlled handoff based on SNMP Information-Based routing. After modeling of suggested method and existing handoff method, simulations are carried out with NS-2 for performance evaluation. The results of simulations show the some improvement on handoff delay, and therefore on QoS improvement.

Yield enhancement in semiconductor fabrication is important. Even though DRAM yield loss may be attributed to many problems, the existence of defects on the wafer is one of the main causes. When the defects on the wafer form patterns, it is usually an indication for the identification of equipment problems or process variations. In this paper describes the techniques to automatically classify a failure pattern using a fail bit map.

전력연구원에서는 울진 표준형원전의 시뮬레이터를 개발하였으며, 여기에는 가상 주제어실, 발전소 현상 감시, 중대사고 등 많은 클라이언트 프로그램들이 있다. 이러한 프로그램들은 시뮬레이터와 연동되어 필요한 값을 읽고 쓰는 과정이 필요하다. 그러나 현재는 해당 시뮬레이터 환경에서 개발되지 않는 외부의 응용프로그램이 이들 시뮬레이터의 값들을 엑세스하는 방법은 제공하지 않고 있다. 본 보고서에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 외부 프로그램들이 시뮬레이션모델의 각종 변수들을 효과적으로 엑세스하여 값을 Read/write 할 수 있는 OPC (OLE for Process Control) Server를 개발하였다. 본 프로그램은 Rockwell의 OPC Server Toolkit인 RSI OPC/DDE Server Toolkit Library를 이용하여 개발하였으며 시뮬레이터가 실행되고 있는 컴퓨터에서 실행된다. 본 보고서에서는 OPC 일반개념, 개발한 OPC Server의 소개, OPC Server의 적용결과 등을 기술하고자 한다.

DCS (Distributed Control System) is adapted in the most fossil power plant in our country but that is not true in the nuclear power plant (NPP) because of the safety problem. KEPRI has developed many simulators for the training of the operators working in power plants. With this accumulated high technology we are developing a DCS simulator for the performance verification of the developed DCS for the make-up demin-water treatment system of Kori #3&4. In this paper we explain how we develop the system model and show a simulation result.

We have developed Virtual Reality Simulator MMI for operator training. MMI communicates with server model and client PC through OPCServer. We used Dataplant for Soft Panel and Simdiagram which shows more sophisticated and reality colors. We used vector method for MCR images instead of conventional bit-map method to protect images during zoom in and zoom out. VBScript and Components were used for real movements and images of instruments. VRMCR panel is consisted of 12 groups and designed to accommodate user's convenience.

Until now, many metadata registries have been built in various fields and the metadata registries were built based on ISO/IEC 11179 which is the international standard for metadata management. However, their management systems do not fully support various and useful tools to easily and systematically manage the metadata registries. In this paper, we describe the metadata registry management system we designed and implemented. The implemented metadata registry management system provide many useful tools for efficient and easy metadata management. Finally, the developed system is also based on the international standard, ISO/IEC11179. Therefore, we can apply it to other fields for building and managing metadata registries.

Electromagnetic field simulator have been developed on Java 2 platform (J2SE) because provides robust solutions for applications as well as object oriented design. The simulator can be easily utilized with independent platform. Physical variables for the simulator can be controlled by the user. The numerical results are immediately displayed with graphical images in real time. Therefore, this simulator is intended to be used for education such as antenna engineering, microwave engineering, electromagnetic theory and so on.

Digital Manufacturing-based production could be very effective in shipbuilding in order to save costs and time, to increase safety for workers, and to prevent bottleneck processes in advance. Digital shipbuilding system, a simulation-based production tool, is being developed to achieve such aspects in Korea. To simulate material flow in a subassembly line at a shipyard, the product, process and resources was modeled for the subassembly process which consisted of several sub-processes such as tack welding, piece alignment, tack welding, and robot welding processes. The analysis and modeling were carried out by using the UML(Unified Modeling Language), an object-oriented modeling method as well as IDEF(Integration DEFinition), a functional modeling tool. Initially, the characteristics of the shop resources were analyzed using the shipyard data, and the layout of the subassembly line was designed with the resources. The production process modeling of the subassembly lines was performed using the discrete event simulation method. Using the constructed resource and process model, the productivity and efficiency of the line were investigated. The number of workers and the variations In the resource performance such as that of a new welding robot were examined to simulate the changes in productivity. The bottleneck process floated according to the performance of the new resources. The proposed model was viewed three-dimensionally in a digital environment so that interferences among objects and space allocations for the resources could be easily investigated

급변하는 시장환경에서 고객수요가 불확실한 상황에서 고객서비스를 최우선으로 하는 기업에서는 전략적인 제휴를 통해 기업의 경쟁력을 확보하는 것이 최우선이라고 하겠다. 이러한 환경에서 대두된 경영혁신 기법들이 공급체인관리와 아웃소싱 개념이라고 할 수 있는데, 이에 본 연구에서는 제조기업의 입장에서 제품가격 경쟁력을 확보하기 위한 일환으로 재고량을 줄이고, 판매량을 늘리는 방안을 제고하고자 한다. 비용과 서비스 관점에서 볼 때 이들은 서로 상충관계에 있지만, 본 연구에서 제안하는 재고 공유 시스템을 통한 공동 재고정책은 기업의 입장에서 볼 때, 보다 적은 재고를 보유함으로써, 재고유지비용을 절감하고, 이는 최종 제품가격의 하락으로 이어져 가격효과를 통한 매출량의 증대시킬 수 있게 된다. 이를 검증하기 위해 본 연구에서는 시스템 다이나믹스 방법을 이용하고, 이를 통하여 본 연구에서 제시된 재고 공유 시스템구축의 타당성을 검증하고, 분석하였다

In clinical practice, CT Angiography is a powerful technique for the visualziation of blood flow in arterial vessels throughout the body. However CT Angiography images of blood vessels anywhere in the body may be fuzzy if the patient moves during the exam. In this paper, we propose a novel technique for removing global motion artifacts in the 3D space. The proposed methods are based on the two key ideas as follows. First, the method involves the extraction of a set of feature points by using a 3D edge detection technique based on image gradient of the mask volume where enhanced vessels cannot be expected to appear, Second, the corresponding set of feature points in the contrast volume are determined by correlation-based registration. The proposed method has been successfully applied to pre- and post-contrast CTA brain dataset. Since the registration for motion correction estimates correlation between feature points extracted from skull area in mask and contrast volume, it offers an accelerated technique to accurately visualize blood vessels of the brain.

An Application of UI System Design Methodology based on System Formalism for a Large Security System지능적으로 공격 패턴을 달리하는 많은 공격들에 대응하기 위해 기존의 보안 시스템은 강력한 보안시스템으로 확장되고 있다. 보안 시스템과 같은 규모가 크거나 복잡한 소프트웨어 계발에 있어서 설계 및 구현 과정에서 있는 설계 변경 및 구현상의 변경으로 인한 전체 시스템에 미치는 영향이 크다. 본 논문에서는 규모가 큰 보안시스템 계발에 있어서 전체 시스템의 영향 관계를 체계적으로 정립한 소프트웨어 설계 방법론으로의 적용이다. 소프트웨어 설계 방법론은 시스템 형식론에 의거하여 소프트웨어가 표현되었으므로 논리적 연관관계를 추적하기 쉽다 이는 소프트웨어 설계 또는 설계 변경 후 인터페이스 시스템의 중요한 동적 특성을 미리 파악 할 수 있게 하여 소모적일 수 있는 시간과 노력을 절약 할 수 있다.

A lot of researches have been done on supporting QoS in the mobile networks and ad hoc network architectures, but most of them are not suitable in the static ad hoc environment. Most Research in mobile ad hoc networks has been devoted to routing protocol since they are fundamantal to the technology for improving QoS. In mobile ad hoc networks, QoS means not only fast speed and reliable transmission but reliable node. Needless to say, general QoS is serious question. In this paper, we enunciate the proposition to reduce network load and prevent node expire using buffer node.
